Assessment & Awards

EatScotland logo

The new EatScotland food grading scheme assesses the presentation, quality and service of food in every kind of eating establishment in Scotland. The EatScotland logo tells you that the establishment has achieved the required standard for this new accolade.

During a visit applicants to the scheme will be assessed on the level of quality. The assessment specifically addresses quality of food, quality of service and quality of cleanliness.

Specialist Options

Many establishments pride themselves on offering a high level of quality in certain specialist areas. VisitScotland intends to identify these and to give recognition for the guidance of consumers by means of further accreditations; for example a thoughtful and well composed Child-Friendly menu, offering interesting dishes for children of a comparable quality with the main menu, or a similar approach to vegetarian options.
